Admired for her radiant, sensual, and stunning voice, as well as for her incredible virtuosity, Mélodie Ruvio is recognised as one of the most exceptional singers of the young generation.
After receiving her Bachelor degree both in flute and in Spanish, Mélodie Ruvio, started to study vocal arts in Paris. Her talent was quickly acknowledged by her mentors and she was quickly invited to sing her very first roles at the prestigious Ambronay Academy, in France. Following her success, she made her highly anticipated debut at the Opéra-Comique in Paris and at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, to great critical acclaim.
These first experiences open for her many new doors and she is quickly invited to perform under the greatest conductors of our time, such as William Christie, Marc Minkovski, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Paul Agnew and Roberto Fores Veses.
Praised for her unique interpretations of the Baroque repertoire, she has sung in today’s most prestigious opera houses, performing the roles of Venus in Monteverdi’s Il Ballo delle Ingrate, Cornelia in Händel’s Giulio Cesare, Phèdre in Cavalli’s Egisto, and Junon in Lully’s Le Ballet des Arts.
Thanks to her unusual, profound and warm voice, she has also been frequently invited to sing the great masterpieces of the sacred repertoire, ranging from Vivaldi and Bach, all the way to Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Liszt. Also passionate about music of our time, Mélodie Ruvio has participated in Michael Jarrell’s opera “Sigfried, a Nocturnal Life”.
Among her recent engagements, Mélodie Ruvio has sung at the Paris National Opera, the Montpellier Opera, the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, the Versailles Royal Opera, the Sofia Philharmonie, the Liège Philharmonie, au Barbican Centre in London and the Copenhagen Philharmonie.
