Recognized for his virtuosity, his audacity, and his imaginative projects, Roy Amotz performs regularly as soloist and chamber musician around the world, with renowned ensembles and orchestras, such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Verbier Festival Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, and the Meitar Ensemble.

Roy Amotz possesses a tremendous musical repertoire, ranging from early Baroque, performed on period instruments, and all the way to contemporary and avant-garde music, played on modern instruments. He has premiered numerous new works for flute that have been written for him by some of today’s most important living composers.

As a soloist and orchestral musician, he has performed under today’s most important conductors, such Daniel Barenboim, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Harding, Christophe von Dohnányi et Matthias Pintscher. Roy Amotz was invited to perform in a variety of international festivals, such as the Lucerne Festival, the Verbier Festival, the MATA Festival, and in addition, he has won various international prizes during his career.

As principal flutist of the Verbier Chamber Orchestra, he has participated in prestigious tours in Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America. A passionate and curious artist, Roy Amotz has recently created a new and fascinating project, named “Fantasies”, combining music, improvisation, encounters, and culinary arts.

Since 2013, Roy Amotz has served as flutist at the Geneva Camerata, an orchestra with whom he has performed a variety of eclectic and unusual projects, ranging from Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary music, all the way to rock, pop, world music, dance, and theatre. In 2018, Roy Amotz gave the world premiere of “Orchestrion”, a new flute concerto written for him and the Geneva Camerata by the Swiss composer Nicolas von Ritter-Zahony. This season, he will give the Israeli premiere of this riveting piece with the Geneva Camerata, at the Felicja Blumenthal International Music Festival, in Tel Aviv.
