VINCENT LIÈVRE-PICARD
tenor

Shortly after graduating from the Paris Conservatory, Vincent Lièvre-Picard received his first awards, leading to his debut in several major operas houses across Europe. Described by the press as “radiant, elegant and enchanting”, his unique tenor voice has also been acclaimed by audiences, who have frequently hailed his exceptional virtuosity and his profound musicality.

His remarkable repertoire, ranging from Baroque to contemporary music, is comprised of the great masterpieces of Monteverdi, Rameau, Purcell, Charpentier, Mozart, Offenbach, Berlioz, Orff, and Rachmaninov. His passion for new music has also brought him to perform works by today’s most important composers, such as Michael Levinas, Hèctor Parra, and Karol Beffa.

Vincent Lièvre-Picard has recently performed at the Paris National Opera, the Paris Châtelet Theatre, the Geneva Opera, the Lille Opera, the Schwetzingen Festival, the Fribourg Sacred Music Festival, the Dresden Frauenkirche, the Utrecht Domkerk, the Lausanne Opera House, and the Bordeaux Opera. He has frequently collaborated with the world’s greatest conductors, such as René Jacobs, William Christie, Michel Corboz, Jean-Claude Malgoire, as well as Raphaël Pichon.

Also passionate about sacred music, he has sung the major masses and oratorios by Vivaldi, Mozart, Haydn, Berlioz, Dvořák and Britten. A specialist of Bach’s repertoire, Vincent Lièvre-Picard’s interpretations and recordings of the Passions and Cantatas have become celebrated models in this field.

Recently, Vincent Lièvre-Picard has participated in a European and Asian tour of Lully’s masterpiece Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, directed by one of the most celebrated French stage directors, Denis Podalydès.

Despite his young age, Vincent-Lièvre Picard has already taken part in more than thirty albums, many of those being awarded international prizes. After he received a Diapason d’Or award and a Choc de Classica award for several of his latest recordings, he went on to receiving the prestigious Massenet Prize, for the best complete set of French Opera. Recently, he has recorded Beethoven’s Lieder for Warner Classics, as part of the worldwide celebrations of the great German composer’s 250th anniversary.
