Admired and sought after internationally, Maxence Sibille has performed at some of the world’s leading music festivals, notably with the Gauthier Toux Trio.

He has given concerts at events such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Cully Jazz Festival, Verbier Festival, Lugano Festival, Jazz à Vienne, Paléo Festival, Rock’Oz Arènes in Avenches, Caprices Festival, Jazz in Fabrica in São Paulo, and in many other countries—including Japan, where he recently toured with the group KUMA, alongside pianist Matthieu Llodra, his long-time musical partner of over fifteen years.

After studying at ETM and the Lausanne University of Music (HEM) in Marcel Papaux’s class, where he earned a Master’s degree, he was also accepted into the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, where he refined his craft under the guidance of renowned masters such as André Charlier and Franck Agulhon. Quickly noticed by prominent musicians, he became involved in projects as eclectic as they are innovative, spanning jazz, blues, hip-hop, metal, soul, and funk.

His innovative and original drumming style, combined with his undeniable improvisational talent, has led him to collaborate with numerous artists including Erik Truffaz, Didier Lockwood, Emile Parisien, Léon Phall, the George Robert Jazz Orchestra, Glenn Ferris, Axel Bauer, Christophe Godin, Stefano Saccon, and many others—such as the Geneva Camerata, with guest artist Lakecia Benjamin.

A few years ago, Maxence Sibille released Seed, his first album as a bandleader. Surrounded by a new generation of European jazz artists, he delivered a surprising record that blends jazz, bebop, fusion, and electronic influences.
