Pierre-Claver Belleka, known as DEXTER, is a Liberian and Central African artist. Born in Côte d’Ivoire, he experienced exile from childhood, moving across several African countries due to civil wars—an experience that profoundly shaped his identity and artistic journey.
In 2006, discovering krump revealed a unique physical language within him. He developed a powerful movement style, rooted in animality, spirituality, and traditional African dances. Trained in particular at Sunu Street Hip-Hop Dance in Dakar, he gradually established himself on both the African and international scenes through battles and choreographic creations.
As a performer, he has taken part in major works such as Birth (Grichka Caruge), Dans la solitude d’un champ de coton (Pietragalla & Julien Derouault), REVOLTA (Geneva Camerata x Grichka Caruge), Gesualdo Passione (Amala Dianor / Les Arts Florissants) and Blind (Cie Drickx Konzi).
Today, he is developing his first personal creations as a triptych: Griot – Act I: Fo Lion, followed by Griot – Act II: SAFARA-SI (Trio), affirming an intimate and committed choreographic voice.
