The Geneva Camerata presents a unique encounter between the world of krump - a style of hip hop developed in the suburbs of Los Angeles - and one of the greatest musical masterpieces in the history, Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony. Performed by heart by the orchestra's musicians, who dance simultaneously alongside four hip-hop dancers, this show explores a number of important social themes, such as tolerance, courage and freedom. To open the evening, GECA presents Battle Zone, a piece composed especially for this project by Alexandre Mastrangelo and inspired by urban cultures and hip hop.
