Hip hop dance and krump

Hendrickx Ntela is a Liège-based dancer and choreographer of Congolese origin. She practices several urban dance styles, including hip-hop, krump, dancehall, kuduro, and afro house. She works as a freestyle dancer, choreographer, and teacher.

Among the first Belgian krump dancers to place krump at the core of her performances, she has collaborated with Brahim Rachiki as well as Grichka, a pioneer of krump in France. She was a finalist at the Krump World Championship in Germany in 2014 and 2022.

Highly active on both the Belgian and international scenes, Hendrickx Ntela has taken part in numerous cultural projects in the field of urban dance. Through these experiences, she has also organized events such as battles in Liège and the Krump Date event in Brussels.

In 2017, she presented her first creation, To Be a Slave, featuring eight international krumpers and three live musicians, at Zinnema and KVS as part of the Festival Lezarts Danses Urbaines. She is the founder of the Drickx Konzi collective and a member of One Nation, an all-female multidisciplinary group, as well as Gully Fusion, an international female krump collective. In 2018, she created Beyond with Pierre Anganda, produced by Lezarts Urbains. The piece explores the boundary between reality and imagination by placing a single character into two distinct bodies.

In 2019, she joined the Tremplin Danses Hip-Hop program, where she became co-choreographer and performer in Au Fil du Temps by Cie Corpeaurelles. That same year, she worked as a trainer at the Les Nuits de la Danse festival in Dakar, where she presented an early stage of her creation Blind. In 2020, she formed the duo Fusion with spoken word artist Joëlle Sambi, which was presented, among others, at the Avignon Festival in 2021.

In 2021, she became an associate artist at the Théâtre National de Bruxelles, where she developed her piece Blind, premiered in February 2022. The work has since toured nationally and internationally (2023–2024) and has already been performed in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Cameroon. In 2023, she performed in Mimi’s Shebeen, a creation by choreographer Alesandra Seutin.

Over the years, Hendrickx Ntela has received several awards and has been invited as a judge at various international competitions within the krump community.
