As the season opener, GECA offers a unique encounter between the world of krump - a hip-hop dance style born in the suburbs of Los Angeles - and one of the greatest masterpieces in music history, Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony. Performed by heart by the musicians, who dance simultaneously, this performance explores various current social themes such as tolerance, courage and freedom in a powerful way.
